Warm Blankets and Slippers Arrive in Time for Winter

This past Thursday, Oksana was back in Kyiv visiting from Germany. She taught the Bible lesson for this week about Jesus healing a paralytic. She drew a parallel between the paralyzed man and our beloved Ukraine, who also resembles a paralytic (both from the external and internal points of view). It was a lesson with a great impact on everyone in attendance!

The widows’ Bible study and food voucher distribution program progressed well over the past two weeks. Even with the challenge of no electricity in the building, we had great participation and attendance. Our staff began to distribute winter blankets as part of the early Christmas gifts for the widows and pensioners.

Our widows were very thankful for the blankets and are already using them. Many helped deliver the printed Bible lesson and a warm blanket to our homebound members. Over a two-week period, we distributed all of them. The widows shared their gratitude as they received the blankets.

This Thursday, Nov. 17, our team began the distribution of the warm furry slippers to all the widows and pensioners. Some will also go to the orphans at Stara Basan and to our new families with autistic children. This is bringing big smiles and laughter to everyone’s faces. They continue to share how grateful they are to receive the gifts to help them through the cold winter months ahead.

All of us at MMK are grateful to everyone who has contributed to these relief efforts. Thank you!
