Several weeks later Roger, Diane, Matt, Natasha, and Katya (one of our Grace Gang orphans) visited the orphanage, which is in the Obolon section of the city, north of the center. They have a Christian Ethics class in the orphanage, and they know the benefit of Christian values. Roger gave the Director and the teachers CD’s of the KSOC, and invited them to the next concert on November 30th, with free tickets available.
Forty-five teachers from Orphanage #22 were in the audience at the November 30th concert. They presented Roger with flowers and were so grateful for the free tickets.
The children aged 15 and older were invited to attend our church with their teachers on Sunday. The orphans ages 15-17 are able to come out of the orphanage with supervision. We plan on developing a Bible study for them at the apartment, and social activities, so that they will know that when they graduate there is a safe and wholesome place to come, a compass in a confusing and chaotic world.
Raisa, our Bible teacher from Christian Children’s Clubs and St. Paul’s Sunday School, will be assisting in teacher material associated with the already established Christian Ethics class.
We are so grateful to God for this wonderful opportunity to help these orphans right here in Kiev.
