The Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Chorus (KSOC) is the only private Orchestra and Chorus in the country of Ukraine. The KSOC has premiered sixty great masterpieces in the last 18 years. Their first tour to America was back in 1996. They are returning to the east coast this fall for their tenth U.S. tour.
Ukraine has long been known for some of the world’s finest classical musicians, including pianist Vladimir Horowitz. The Kiev Conservatory, once the Royal Music Conservatory, was founded by Dmitri Shostakovich. Many of the members of KSOC graduated from this prestigious conservatory. In Kiev alone, there are 6 professional orchestras and 50 professional choirs. We are privileged to have the top musicians and singers perform in the KSOC.
Performing with the KSOC not only provides additional income, which is so necessary for survival in these troubled economic times for Ukraine, but also enriches their soul through the message in the sacred classics. Their talent, dedication, and love of music make these musicians extraordinary in their ability to master the most difficult musical works in various languages.
The group will land at JFK airport on September 8th and play their first concert on September 10th at Calvary Church in Lancaster, PA. If you click on tour and then schedule on our website you will find the 41 cities where they will be performing from September 10th thru October 31st. The concerts will include both classical and Ukrainian folk offerings that provide a unique cultural experience which will enrich and enlighten audiences of every age.
We hope that if you live in or near one of these venues you will make every effort to attend a concert. We want the gift of this wonderful music to touch the lives of everyone. We are profoundly grateful for the financial gifts from so many of our friends and supporters to make this upcoming tour possible.
